Summerstage New York City

Summerstage is a concert series provided by the City Parks foundation that seeks to provide “free and accessible arts, sports, education and community-building programs within NYC parks”.  Throughout New York City boroughs it exposes communities to artist, dances, comedies,music and art every summer starting May 29th to the beginning of September. Every summer  I happen to volunteer at its main stage in Central Park. Last year I was able to see Battles, Yo-Yo Ma, The Script and many others perform. This year a plethora of diverse artist are performing FOR FREE also such as the following links!! Frightened Rabbit

Frightened Rabbit was a guest on World Cafe on XPN and I really just loved their harmonies and indie folk vibe so much that I stayed upstairs until their set was over. They have a new album called Pedestrian Verse with took three years to make due to the open process which is was made, it was a group effort for song writing rather than one sided like their previous material. My favorite song thus far is Acts Of Man due to the transition from indie folk to chop and screwed indie. Listen to that sound to understand what I mean. Check Their Live session out it really gives a different vibe to their sound!

All I can say is WOW. From the haunting cords of the beginning to the futuristic beats and imagery of race relations today just speaks volumes to me.  This to me is the melting of his musical history of reality ridden conscious rap of Late Registration, Futuristic Beats of 808 & Heartbeat and the outer worldly lyrics and production of Watch The Throne. He again uses his godly atmospheric sound reminiscent of Power to make a statement which flows beautifully. Kanye West arrogance is justified by his excellence with lyrics “I rather be a prick than a swallower”. He talks about consumerism, white privilege, government corruption, and the prison system that is mandated under the 13th Amendment and is making New Slaves. This isn’t a myth it is Fact.  This Song is History. Thank You Kanye West!!

Tricky is coming The Union Transfer June 11th one of Trip - Hop’s Founders!!! One of my favorite artist for albums such as Maxinquaye. I loved the melancholy painted in the background that infuses classical, soul, rock and Tricky’s and Martina voices. A musical Beauty and The Beast! I cite trip-hop a lot for its infusions of hip - hop, down tempo, jazz and ambient music. This genre really appeals to my natural side who just want to sit back and plunge into my thoughts.

I read about this last week on Facebook and I wrote that it is okay. Nick an essential part of Tame Impala has been friends with all of ttem from a while now, but he has his own life to fixate on and Pond to be passionate about. At the end of the day Tame Impala is Kevin Parkers’ Frankenstein, which I feel will lead to the other band members leaving also. I have watched plenty of interviews with the band and even the recent one of sound opinions, and it really is Kevin talking a majority of the time, which the occasional Jay interjecting about bass chords rights.
